MEMORIAL TRIBUTES/1999_______________________________________________

July 4, 1925 - September 28, 1966

Ghosts do not say,
"Come, what was your record when you drew breath?"
But a big blot has hid each yesterday
So poor, so manifestly incomplete.
And your bright Promise, withered long and sped,
Is touched; stirs, rises, opens and grows sweet
And blossoms and is you, when you are dead.

In Memory of
Eric Fleming
4th July 1925 - 28th September 1966

Taken from us so long ago on 28th September 1966,
The saddest of dates, the darkest of days.

Your fate cruelly sealed in a far and distant land,
You would never return to live your dreams.

The tragedy cannot be forgotten or dismissed
from the thoughts of those who care.

My solace is a cowboy from an old TV Western.

        Sleep peacefully, dear Eric
And know that you are loved and remembered always.

The brightest star in the heavens.
