Weekly Discussion Thread Entries

Our weekly discussion thread entries should be viewed as a forum for thought and expression outside of the classroom. Think of them as journals in progress in which you are free to pose questions, assert conclusions, and forward ideas and interpretations on anything related to our weekly readings. Unlike formal papers, our weekly discussion thread entries can be free form, experiemental, grammatically questionable, and just plain fun. The only criteria for our discussion thread is that you THINK.

Short Formal Essays

Short formal essays are to be 3-5 typed pages in length and are due on the dates specified on our Course Schedule. Our first essay will be based on an assigned topic; the second essay topic will be developed by students in the course. Please note that Felician College stipulates an Honor Code policy by which you must comply. Plagiarized papers will receive failing grades and may lead to withdrawl or failure in the course. Please be accountable for your own words and work.

Final Exam

The Final Exam will be a cumulative exam; you will be expected to write two short in-class essays based on a choice of topics provided on the exam date.

Class Participation

Class participation is a major element of our course. You are expected to complete all the readings on time and participate in discussions, debates, etc. during our class meetings.

Attendance and Late Policy

Attendance is MANDATORY. Please contact me in advance if you believe you will be absent for class. The class will begin promptly at 5:30pm. Please avoid being late for our class meetings. Students with transportation, work, and/or ability issues that may conflict with our late policy should speak to me early in the semester.
