NTSB Board Meetings
The Members of the National Transportation Safety
Board meet in a public session, under the provisions of the Government in the
Sunshine Act, generally every other Tuesday to discuss and adopt major accident
reports, special investigation reports, safety studies, and other Board
products. The discussion of certain legal decisions (Opinions and Orders)
affecting airman and seaman licenses is closed to the public under Exemption 10
of the Sunshine Act. Detailed information from the docket is sometimes made available
on the web site; in those cases it will be linked with the Board Meeting or Public Hearing
schedule.
Notices of dates and agendas for Board Meetings
are published in the Federal Register and on the NTSB's
World Wide Web page at least one week before the meeting date. The date and
agenda are subject to change on short notice, however, so please call
202-314-6100 to confirm. Synopses of final reports and any related press releases are
generally available immediately following the meetings; published reports are
usually available 4-6 weeks later; Opinions and Orders are
usually available 2-4 weeks later.
