* SAN FRANCISCO RALLY *

Following photographs taken by yours truly...
My two signs for the Liberty For Elian rally

The San Francisco rally took place at Union Square, north of Market Street. The rally started at approximately 10am. From 60 to 100 people took part in the rally and the rally lasted for well over four hours.

It began with a march from the intersection of Market & Powell at a cable car terminus to Union Square. We marched around the plaza a number of times, drawing people's attention to this national disgrace.

A noon-time speech was given by a gentleman from the Ayn Rand Institute. Comparisons were drawn between Elian's inevitable fate in Cuba to slavery.

Our group was met with much apathy and occasional disruptions. So much for tolerant and compassion in the city by the bay.
