![]() Our lone black twig apple last
year
![]() Norman doesn't usually step into the garden. It was time to renew the cayenne! ![]() Aronia ![]() Not too bad for an old cheap camera! I caught this today (April 20th, 2008). This blueberry is my last one to flower and this year was the first year that this one flowered much at all. (In the background is a dogwood.) ![]() Same view, uncropped. ![]() Garlic nestled by peas. ![]() Squash in cold frame ![]() My potatoes growing on top of compost bin. ![]() If the garden isn't doing well in a spot, it usually because there is a big rock under it. This spot never did well so I took a shovel and kept putting it down to get an idea of the size of the rock. It was huge. We'll have to wait for sean to get it out. ![]() The back part of the cabin we rented last year at Thanksgiving. Its surrounded by working farms. ![]() A birds eye view of part of our property. There is a typo... its ARONIA, not Arnoia! <sigh> Also I think the house is 44 ft, not 50 but who has time to measure! Some of the grey areas are deciduous trees that have lost their leaves but others are very large rocks! SHAMELESS SHOWING OFF OF KIDS: ![]() Spring brings ball and dogwoods here. |
![]() Just one of many butterflies ![]() October eggplants. Margaret, I think you were right about the yellow eggplant <grin> ![]() Do you SEE how little top soil we have? The larger rock BTW was 12 inches tall. The darker soil you see in the foreground is from the top of the ground opposite the hole. ![]() Another shot of same bee. ![]() Last shot of same bee.... I promise! <smile> ![]() "wild" leeks give to me from a friend ![]() Yellow clover ![]() Pincecones to keep the peas from being eaten. Just covering them didn't work but both covering and pinecones worked! ![]() A view of our home from down in the dry branch at the side of the house. (There is another dry branch at the back of the land AND in the middle back of the land too.) ![]() Same rock minus child sitting on it. ![]() Unknown wildflower taken in July 07 ![]() The bright green marks out the new borders of expanded beds ![]() I'm afraid it wasn't one of our own pumpkins. The drought ended any hopes of getting those last year. |
