Abstract A novel solid freeform fabrication technology capable of creating three dimensional structures with complex geometries, varying densities, and multiple materials is presented. Referred to as Three Dimensional Printing (3DPTM), the technology has the ability to fabricate oral dosage forms for sustained release, controlled release, targeted release, cyclical release, or any combination of these.
