Abstract A new abrading technique for the fabrication of graphite electrical discharge machining (EDM) electrodes is presented. Based on the high-frequency vibration principle, this technique could directly replicate complex-shaped graphite electrodes from the master pattern built with rapid prototyping (RP) technology without using any cutter or fixture. A cheap and performance-reliable resin has been developed, and the abrader used has been cast with this material. Using this abrader, tractor crank link forging dies have been fabricated by means of electrical discharge machining. (Auth abstract) [References: 7] XX
