Abstract A description of a new tooling technology, MoldFusion, from a collaboration between D-M-E of Madison Heights, Missouri, and the ProMetal Division of Extrude Hone Corp. MoldFusion prints layer-by-layer with powder tool steel in a binder matrix to create near-net-shape 3-D structures from 3-D CAD models. MoldFusion technology reportedly offers benefits that include a 20-35 percent reduction in cycle time and better part dimension control. XX
