Abstract The authors investigate the use of stereolithography (SL) for direct tooling for simple part geometry. Thermal response and part quality are quantified from modifications that affect thermal properties. The results indicate that the ability to duplicate mold characteristics is not useful and that the SL molds could be used for low-volume part production. XX
