Abstract There is a continuing requirement for circuit breakers to be more efficient in terms of performance and to be more reliable and cost effective. Today, circuit breakers are being produced more rapidly than previously by designers taking advantage of computer aided design and manufacture, and utilizing modeling techniques. Use of these technologies results in equipment that offers simpler, more reliable designs with significant improvements in cost effectiveness. XX
