60. AeroMet implementing novel Ti process

Author Abbott, David H. Arcella, Frank G.

Source Metal Powder Report. v 53 n 2 Feb 1998. p 24-26.

Abstract AeroMet Corp of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA, is implementing a revolutionary process that has the ability to significantly reduce lead times for complex titanium structures by up to 50 to 75%. The process, known as 'Lasform', uses a laser-based direct metal deposition process and advanced rapid prototyping technology to manufacture large titanium structural components for the aerospace, defense and chemical processing industries. Development Manager, David H. Abbott, and President Frank G. Arcella, introduce the process. (Auth abstract) [References: 3] XX
