Abstract The University of Southern California (USC) is currently developing a new additive fabrication technology called Contour Crafting. This technology uses computer control to exploit the superior surface-forming capability of troweling to create smooth and accurate planar and free-form surfaces. Compared to other rapid prototyping processes, Contour Crafting affords better surface quality, higher fabrication speed, and a larger choice of materials. XX
