Abstract Recent state and perspective of layer-by-layer synthesis technology are reviewed. The results of application of laser stereolithography (LS) in creation of 3D-objects by using the data of x-ray tomography and videogrammetry are given. Behavior of photopolymeric patterns, produced by the method of LS, under heating is considered. The papers concerning the 3D-objects, manufactured via layer-by-layer sintering powdered materials, tomographic data for rapid prototyping, photopolymerization and synthesis of ceramics by the method of selective laser sintering are discussed.
