I am no longer an active participant in the
buildup of Arvin's car.
My
new job (tech @ Lexus) does not allow me the time anymore to come over and
help.
Chris (see the 1999
section of the site) is still helping out,he's Arv's main pit crew at
events.
So what about the car? For almost all of 2000 it was being rebuilt. It's now a full race car that has finally broken the 10-second barrier. A new cage and wheelie bars from now-defunct AXZ Race Fabrication (formerly AXZ Tuning) was the base for the buildup. Arvin,Chris, and Jon (another friend of ours) did the rest;from wiring to lexan to engine buildup. The Bensons block,DFI, and components of the old fuel system stay. Until recently it was decal-less.
I would have liked to show some pictures, but unfortunately my old computer crashed. Take a look at the urbanracer.com photo galleries, you'll find some photos.

Man,there's been quite a bit of change since the last time I updated this site.
Arvin sold his shop (Midas) and is back in school. He was also involved with Z10 Engineering for a bit,
there's photos of his car on their site ('05 update - Z10 has changed their site)
As for me,I'm still a tech @ Lexus. As mentioned in the main site,I sold my Si. I'm involved in some Honda projects. I plan on getting my original Civic (90 Si hatchie) back on the road. Photos of the project will be up,but don't hold your breath ;-)January 2005
Wow,I still get an ocassional email asking about the car :-)
I haven't seen Arvin for the last few years,he has pretty much retired from the scene.
Apparently the car is just sitting in storage. I'd love to bring it back,I just don't have
the time and money to do it.
As for Honda projects,I have friends in hatchbacks running faster times now,
and without the pain and suffering we've gone through.
There has been a lot of changes in turbo design and engine management.
For example,we no longer need to run external pumps,a high-pressure in-tank one
can easily feed a 500 wheel-HP setup. Hondata and Neptune engine management
systems are a lot more sophisticated than the old DFI system we ran.One of my recent projects was an engine for a friend. His car is featured in
the February 2005 (it's out right now) Modified Magazine. Congrats Steve!
