William Kay Phillis - 1st Lieutenant, 371st Bomber Squadron, U.S. Air Force. Born 24 Jan 1923 in Philadelphia, PA. Presumed dead while Missing in Action. A crew member of a B-29A Superfortress Bomber with the 371st Bomber Squadron, 307th Bomber Wing based at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa. On September 13, 1952, while making a bomb run on the Suiho Hydroelectric Plant, his aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on February 28, 1954. He was awarded the Air Medal, the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal. His name appears on a monument in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Gulf War
Stephen Richard Phillis - Captain, US Air Force. Son of Richard & Diane Phillis. Killed In Action 14 April 1991 at age 30 in Northwestern Kuwait. He was an A-10 pilot. His wingman was shot down and Stephen was organizing a search and rescue when he was hit. Information states he never ejected and was apparently killed instantly. He is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Timothy Phillis
