Beaches, Boats, Coasts, and Surf Cams...

Here are some of my favorite live web cams. If you can't go to the beach or sail, click on a web cam link, look at the surf or the harbor and dream.

The sea is the great consoler. She may beguile us.
She may challenge us, she may destroy us, but she never refuses us.

Check out the NEW Mystic Seaport Webcam in Mystic, Connecticut and see the newly launched Amistad. Control the cam. Turn the camera left toward Long Island Sound. Wisp will be moored in Noank just west of Mystic.

With ghosting sails, we can glide over the water that scarcely shows a ripple

This is a MUST SEE Visit Nantucket Island. Check out the "Gray Lady's" Harbor, Cobblestone, Bus, and Cybercafe cams. Real Player is required for this site.

Take out your map and look at it.
See what a real corner of the world it occupies; how it stands there away off shore....
Look at it -- a mere hillock, an elbow of sand; all beach, without a background.
--Herman Melville, Moby Dick

but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.
