Some of My Personal Thoughts and Comments about

PWP Logo

First off, I'd like to thank all of the fine people at AT&T Worldnet who have done such a very good job in their efforts to make this all possible.  They've truly developed a "world class" PWP server in a very short time.

Whenever I've needed advice or assistance, they've been prompt with their help in all of the many PWP Discussion Groups they've made available.

I've been left with the feeling that enough necessary information has always been advailable in the Beta Testing Program* for us newbie web page builders.   I also believe that a certain "you can figure it out if you try" philosophy was chosen by the designers of the test* program.   But plenty of help would be advailable, as needed.
I like that in a learning experience.

I've been given support and encouragement from other Beta Testers* in the program. We are all in this together, and it is fun to help one another.   Perhaps not a bad attitude towards life in general, eh?

I'd like to offer special thanks to three of the many kind, knowledgeable, and especially patient folks watching over the pwp.help newsgroups:  GrassHopper; Barnumand Leftie.   Thanks.   You've helped to keep this hobby of mine fun, instead of a fustration.

One thing I've done,  is I've spent a lot of time looking at other PWPs by using the "Show Me a Random Home Page" function at the Worldnet PWP Home Page.

random.gif(yes, it's a link.)

I've clicked and clicked on that lil' icon, maybe a couple hundred times. Seeing all the different pages gave me new ideas,  and I found it somewhat humbling at first also.   There's some pretty impressive things being accomplished by all you fellow testers* . . .

. . . But although I know how humble my efforts really always will be compared to what another person might do, I've also been very encouraged by "surfing" through all those sites.   What someone else can do, I may learn how to do also.

I've noticed some things that didn't appeal to me personally, so I've decided not to try those things out on my pages.   I'm glad those things are being done by someone tho, all the variations are a wonderful thing.

Often times now, if the PWP author is willing, I'll e-mail them a little comment about my viewpoint on their page(s).   That's something I never used to do, but since I now have a page of my own, I'm wondering myself what folks think about it.   Does it work in their browser like it does in the one I use?   Do they know of any links that would be appropriate for my pages?   And so on.

Although I don't have much to offer in the way of advice, I'm thinking now that if I see something that looks wrong, like a link that doesn't work, or an image that's not displaying correctly . . . well, I'd want to know about it if it was on my page.

And clicking happily along on the Random Home Page link, I got the idea to offer on this page some links to other pages that I personally liked.   After all, I don't think any of us would be doing this if we didn't hope that other people might visit our pages.

So it's a random selection, although I'd admit to a certain "judgementalness" on my part.   But what I like, and what someone else likes . . . needn't be at all the same.    I say "Thank goodness we don't all like the same things!"   It'd be pretty boring out there, IMHO.

What I'll say is this:  ~I just personally happen to like these sites, and I think you might too.   I really don't want to get caught up in the judging of sites.   I am not worthy, trust me about that.   If you know of a page you'd like to see posted here, please let me know.

I've personally contacted each author of each page below for their permission to offer a link to their site.   If you wish to submit a site link for this page, it would be nice if you got the author's permission also.

*I started this page back when the beta testing for Worldnet PWPs was still being done. Although we are certainly out of the "beta" stage, I still see growth and improvement on a continuing basis in all of the PWP features.
