Adding a Background Scroll

- An Overview -

One of the most popular effects used with stationery today, is the scrolling background.  To add a background scroll to your stationery, you edit the stationery's (HTML) file and add a piece of code called Visual Basic Script (VBScript). The script is what makes the background image move across your screen.

In this section, the discussion centers on using Windows Explorer and Notepad to edit stationery's file to add and edit the script that controls the scrolling background. The process of adding a background scroll to a piece of stationery really involves two phases and they are:

  1. Editing the stationery's HTML file to add the script;
  2. Modifying or editing the script for:
    • The background files size parameters - These parameters tell the script the width and height dimensions of the background image file, used in the stationery;
    • The direction parameter - This parameter tells the script which direction you would like the background file to scroll, in the stationery;
    • The background files position parameter - Modifying this parameter is optional; however, it tells the script where to position the background file, in the stationery.
