Creating Outlook Stationery
By the way, if this is your first attempt at creating stationery and you would like to follow along, please take the sections in the order listed below because we will be building on an example piece of stationery, as we move along.
- Creating Outlook Stationery;
- Adding Music to stationery;
- Adding a Scrolling Background.
File Location
Now, you needn't be concerned about the location of the Stationery folder and/or stationery files when you're creating stationery with the Stationery Setup Wizard because, it copies all of the files to the folder during the creation process. On the other hand, because the wizard does copy all the stationery files to the folder, when you are adding music and/or a background scroll to your stationery the location of the Stationery folder and stationery files becomes very important because you need to where to look for the files you want to modify. So, with that in mind, the location of this folder is shown below:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery
| Note: | There are help pages on how to locate both the Stationery folder and stationery files, during the discussion, whenever the folder and/or file location becomes important. |
Software
The over all objective of this discussion is to give you the ability to create stationery without having to download any third party software. Additionally, if you have Internet Explorer 5.x (or higher) installed on your computer, you already have everything you need to create stationery because:
