This family has been traced back to Herman Velick in the 1550s in Nunspeet, Netherlands. According to a Dutch newspaper article, this family name can be found back as far as 1369.
The information I have on these families includes over 1500 individuals. It has been a collaborative effort including over 30 people. Two of these people have web sites devoted to these families. I see no reason to duplicate their data here. Instead I refer you to their web pages. Both gentlemen start with the same generation number one.
