Biography of Wilmer and Hazel Stephens
Wilmer A. Stephens was born on February 10, 1894 in Pinetop, Arizona. He married Cynthia Elfreda Adair, daughter of John Washington Adair and Cynthia Jane Penrod in December of 1917. They had one son, Wilmer Robin Stephens born on April 30, 1918. Cynthia died during the birth of their son. Unfortunately Wilmer Robin also died shortly thereafter on July 1, 1919.
Wilmer's second marriage was to Hazel Irene Sanders, daughter of William Thomas Sanders and Phoebe Jane Freeman. Wilmer and Hazel were married January 7, 1926 in Lordsburg, New Mexico. They had five children: three daughters and two sons.
Wilmer passed away on August 11, 1951 in Fort Bayard, Grant County, New Mexico. Wilmer is buried in Pinetop, Arizona near his first wife and first son.

Vonna Hazel Stephens was born June 15, 1904 in Pinetop, Arizona. She married George Daniel Adair, son of John Washington Adair and Cynthia Jane Penrod in July of 1923. This was a unique situation where a brother and sister married individuals who were also brother and sister. George and Vonna were later divorced. They had no children.
Vonna Hazel's second marriage was to Ralph Murray. Vonna passed away on November 26, 1979 in Los Angeles, California.
