Lloyd Edwin Adair 1904-1948

The sixth child, born on May 9, 1904, was Lloyd. He was the only child born in Fort Apache, Arizona. He was called a powder man or powder monkey because his work involved using dynamite to get tree trunks out of the ground.

His life ended tragically when his body was pulled out of a creek, June 12, 1948, by his parents' home. The cause of his death was listed as accidental drowning (Lakeside Ward Membership Records). It has been speculated that he was murdered. Lawrence Lilly believed Lloyd had a misunderstanding with the Indians and that they had thrown him into the creek.

Lloyd never married. He was laid to rest at the Pinetop Cemetery.
