Lawrence Edward Adair 1912-1954

Lawrence Edward Adair born in Pinetop, Arizona on January 21, 1912. Lawrence (also known as Lar) was the ninth child born to John Washington Adair and Cynthia Jane Penrod. He married Frances Louise Stock in Show Low, Arizona on April 19, 1930. Frances is the daughter of Joseph Edward Stock and Jennie Peterson. Lawrence and Frances had a daughter named Betty Jo. Lawrence and Francis divorced.

Lawrence had a son named James (Jimmy) Edward, with Mary Jane Sanders. He had physical and mental disabilities. His grandparents John and Cynthia raised Jimmy as their own son. He was tragically hit and killed by a car in Bisbee on March 21, 1984. You may read more about Jimmy at the link below.

Lar built his own house, which was just north of his parents' home. He used an old horse to haul lumber out of the woods until his father bought the 1947 truck. Lar's niece, Beverly Allan, has said that her ex-brother-in-law, Robin Hansen, now lives at 1900 S. Penrod Lane which is where Lar's house was located.

Lar died of cardiac failure on June 9, 1954 in Show Low and was laid to rest in Pinetop.
