Glenn Dayton Adair 1916-1939

The eleventh child born in Pinetop on May 6, 1916 was Glenn. He not only was close to Snooks in age, but they had a close relationship. Clytia McCabe, Snooks' sister-in-law remembers seeing them together quite often.

Glenn married Mary Jane Sanders on September 30, 1935. She is the daughter of Thomas Mitchell Sanders and Inez Finch. Glenn and Mary Jane had two sons: The first was Glenn Dayton Jr., named after his father, and born on October 10, 1936 in Duncan, Arizona. The second son was named Thomas Mitchel, after Mary Jane's father. Tom was born March 15, 1938 in Pinetop. Tom later took the surname of Fulcher, while living with Arch and Maggie Fulcher.

Glenn worked for the state driving a truck and doing maintenance work. He was also very musically talented and played many stringed instruments, as well as the trumpet.

He died on March 26, 1939 at his parents' home from complications of Vincent's Gingivitis, also known as trench mouth. The disease causes painful inflammation of the mouth and gums. It responds to the treatment of penicillin, but the antibiotic was not available at the time to cure it. He was only twenty-two years of age.
