Telescope Tube Assembly and Optics
This is my 10" f/5.4 Newtonian.
The tube assembly includes a Parks fiberglass tube
and the original version of Parks rotating rings.
The tube assembly weighs 65 lbs. The focuser,
The spider, secondary holder, and mirror cell are by Novak.
The scope has a 2.5" quartz secondary chosen to provide a 5/8"
fully-illuminated circle on 35mm film.
The primary mirror, seen here from the back of the Novak mirror cell,
was made by a gentleman from Columbia, Missouri,
who (20 years ago) called himself "Meridian Optics."
It is a full-thickness, Pyrex mirror.
Details about the Mounting and Drives,
and Astrophoto Equipment I use with this scope
are also available.
