Dr. Drummond is recognized internationally as an expert in signal and data processing and sensor fusion. He has over 20 years experience in various aspects of signal processing and multiple target tracking, including sensor data fusion. He is an independent consulting engineer currently under contract with four companies to develop multiple sensor, multiple target tracking and sensor fusion algorithms.
As an Engineering Staff Specialist at Hughes Missile Systems Co. (previously General Dynamics) he developed high performance algorithms for missile projects and was IR&D Principal Technologist for Signal and Track Processing. Earlier at Hughes Aircraft Co., he was Algorithm Manager for large scale EO surveillance systems, including SSTS and BSTS. He also gained extensive pertinent experience while on the staff of The Aerospace Corp.
He has been a Guest Lecturer on Multiple Target Tracking at UCLA and SPIE Symposia and has presented his advanced, intensive, 5-day course on this topic throughout the United States, Europe and Israel. He instituted and chairs the annual three-day SPIE conference entitled:
Signal and Data Processing of Small Targets .
He has authored or co-authored over 25 publications in the field of dynamic system estimation, decision and control. Two patents awarded and other patent disclosures are in process.
