This event is open to anyone from in Europe with an interest in Rapid Manufacturing. The two days will draw together experts with the aim of increasing the adoption of Rapid Manufacturing technologies. Key policy makers will be in attendance from across industry, EC, and Manufuture (www.manufuture.org).

Participants will have the opportunity to extend their knowledge of Rapid Manufacturing and also to establish new collaborations with companies working in the field with a view to creating business opportunities that take advantage of this exciting area of technology.

Day One is organised in collaboration with the Custom-Fit consortium and the Spanish RM platform. Top-level speakers including Siemens, Indo, Delcam, TNO, MicroTec and De Montfort University will provide current perspectives of Rapid Manufacturing from a business point of view.

Day Two is free of charge and will feature a workshop for attendees aimed at creating business initiatives on a regional and national level. There will also be an update on FP7 (http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7) regarding RM, the recently approved projects and the progress of the Platform to date.

What is Rapid Manufacturing? RM is the process of making functional end products directly from CAD using additive layer manufacturing technologies (LMT). It is of particular interest for smaller production volumes as it avoids the investments of tooling. This field is also known by several other names such as direct manufacturing, direct fabrication or digital manufacturing
