Company expects to place up to 100 systems in the marketplace before the end of the year.
This highly anticipated modeler enables designers, engineers, hobbyists and students to imagine, design and produce their ideas at their desks. The V-Flash(TM) Desktop Modeler is the first product that 3D Systems plans to bring to market based on its breakthrough fourth technology platform, called Film Transfer Imaging (FTI). 3D Systems expects to conduct a managed phased roll-out of its V-Flash(TM) Desktop Modeler, starting in the United States following its World Conference this week. The company anticipates expanding the marketing reach of the V-Flash(TM) Modeler into Europe during the first quarter of 2008. It expects to place up to 100 systems in the marketplace before the end of the year. Together with Dreve, 3D Systems also expects to launch of the V-Flash(TM) HA 230 hearing aid manufacturing system later this year. Dreve develops and manufactures resins, including resins used for the manufacture of hearing aid shells and ear molds. "Our much anticipated V-Flash(TM) Desktop Modeler is what our customers have been awaiting - an easy-to-use, plug-and-play, economical model-maker that expedites part delivery and revolutionizes concept design as we know it," said Abe Reichental, 3D Systems' president and chief executive officer. "With the capability to create high-quality, ready-to-use, three-dimensional models in the office, home or school setting, and the affordability of this solution, we believe that this modeler will usher in a new expansion era of Rapid Prototyping to a broader range of market applications." Today, 3D Systems' Buddy Byrum, Senior Director, Global Marketing, 3-D Modeling, will give a presentation on the V-Flash(TM) Desktop Modeler at the 3D Systems World Conference during his keynote address titled, "V-Flash(TM): Desktop Modeling Becomes a Reality."
