A great success for CRP and the New WINDFORM FX®
at the Seminar on RP/RM Technologies in Motorsports

news!

Derby University, UK - 11 September 2007 - On 11 September, the Seminar on RP/RM technologies in Motorsports took place at the University of Derby, (UK). The Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing Association (RPMA) hosted a Seminar based on the use of Rapid Prototyping/Rapid Manufacturing technologies in Motorsports.

Actually a great success for CRP Technology which had the chance to present a new interesting application in the Motorsport sector. Mr. Giampiero Testoni, Co-Founder and Managing Director of CRP Racing (CRP Technology's Racing Department), made his presentation on Tuesday morning. The title of the Case Study was "Rapid Manufacturing applications on Racing Engine: Reed Valve made by flexible WINDFORM FX and SLS Technology".

Mr. Testoni explained the new project developed (right now being in a testing and improving phase) by CRP Technology's RP Department in collaboration with CRP Racing: a 125cc bike reed valve made by the new flexible material Windform® FX and SLS technology.

CRP Racing, in collaboration with CRP Technology's R&D and RP Department has chosen to test new and different solutions to obtain a scientific method and an exact repeatability after having found, as the result of experimental testing, the best configuration to guarantee the best functionality of the components, actually a balance between flexibility and stiffness.

The initial results of the dyno tests, in spite of the early difficulties which are usually encountered with every development project, showed a good development margin and in the future further tests will be useful to improve and develop this project, that surely will open a new path in the study of the two-stroke engine supply.

Our Special thanks go to the organizers of this seminar, as this kind of event always is a great opportunity to show the CRP's high professionalism, quality and service. In particular CRP Technology and CRP Racing would like to thank Mr. Graham Tromans for the kind invitation.

The full paper of the Case Study is soon available online on CRP TECHNOLOGY's website www.crp.eu and WINDFORM's website www.windform.it.
