Krailling, Germany - August 10th, 2007 - EOS, the world-wide leading manufacturer of laser-sintering systems, announced that it will exhibit at K 2007, the international plastics and rubber trade fair, which will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany from October 24th to 31st. The company will showcase its two e-Manufacturing solutions for rapid, flexible production of plastic components-EOSINT P for direct manufacturing and EOSINT M for high volume tooling.
To demonstrate the laser-sintering processes, the company will be manufacturing parts on a FORMIGA P 100 and constructing tooling inserts on an EOSINT M 270. The exhibit will also include new examples of e-Manufacturing applications in the automotive and aerospace industries. EOS with be joined by three co-exhibitors-Materialise (Belgium), FIT (Germany) and LBC GmbH (Germany). The EOS exhibit will highlight direct manufacturing of small, complex plastic parts with the EOSINT P process. The tool-less and flexible laser-sintering process constructs components in polyamide and polystyrene materials. The company will also present new materials for its FORMIGA P 100, EOSINT P 390 and EOSINT P 730. The material developments include a high impact strength material, a flexible material and two new colors.
For high volume applications, the company will show its Direct Metal Laser-Sintering (DMLS) process. On the show floor, an EOSINT M 270 will produce tooling inserts from EOS MaragingSteel MS1. Co-exhibitor and DMLS user, FIT will be on-hand to share it experience with DMLS. Charly Fruth, FIT's managing director said, "We have already manufactured more than 2,000 tools with DMLS technology. For us, the advantages are mainly the short lead times and, as a consequence, the ability to react fast and flexibly to product changes." Attendees of the K 2007 trade fair can see the EOS e-Manufacturing technology in booth 2E23, hall 2.
