| Comments: Ditty, I'm in New Orleans visiting dad and I just read the wonderful letter you sent to him. I will try to dash off this note as my 14 month old, Keely, toddles with wreckless abandon around dad's house full of baby hazards.
You, like all of us, have beautiful, precious memories about mom that will be treasured forever. I am so grateful that mom and I had such wonderful times together and that there are wonderful memories to hold dear. The reality that she is gone forever sometimes hits me from out of nowhere yet there are many times when I still feel her presence and I can hear her speaking to me. I am able to concentrate on all of the positives, however, as hard as this has been. I know mom is no longer suffering. Living without her is almost easier than living with her spending weeks in the hospital and never knowing when she will be better. The day of mom's funeral I told dad, "Most of the days in the hospital were far more depressing than this day." He agreed. I am grateful that I was here in New Orleans for the duration of mom's short illness-11 weeks, 1 day. Thank God for that. I'm going to sign off now. Keely will no longer stand for playnig second fiddle to a computer. I will write down your e-mail address and bring it back to Atlanta with me. I'd love to e-mail you some pictures of Keely. rushed right in to see where and how my answer was listed. Then I realized I couldn't remember what my answer was. Oh well, things change. I distinctly remember being asked, however. Interesting that I remember my mood at the time rather than my answer. My mood? pissed off about something. Threatened by the question. Two things popped into my mind when I thought of the question today: I want to be able to travel back in time. I want to be able to travel forward in time.
