It's here - it's out, it's done! No Man's Land is Don's first new singer-songwriter CD since A Lot in Common came out in 1995. (His instrumental CD Instrument was released in 1999.) From Don - "No Man's Land is centered around a group of songs that are sort of 'landscape' songs - songs that talk about things inspired by the land, particularly my home in the San Luis Valley. In the song No Man's Land, it is specifically the landscape around the Colorado - New Mexico border, some of the most outwardly barren and forbidding land around. It has a particular draw and fascination for me, and evokes a strong feeling of ancient history and timelessness." Here is a painting by Alamosa artist Dave Montgomery that is used as the back tray card of the CD package.
The graphic design work for the CD was done by Kris Gosar from Gosar Design of Monte Vista, Colorado, with the help of Michael Bennett, one of Kris's students at Adam's State College. Kris also contributed a painting of Don that is the front cover image for the CD.
Other songs on No Man's Land touch on a variety of topics - love songs, political and social commentary, growth and life in general. Check out the full liner notes here - Song list - 1.
