Don & Pepper's 25th Anniversary page

(If you have a sound card, you should be hearing John Denver's Annie's Song, which is "our song").

On June 14th 2000, we celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary. This page shows a few pictures from our celebrations.

First - a step into the past. Here we are at Bethel Lutheran church in Bartonville on June 14, 1975.

And here's the entire Wedding Party.

We didn't want a traditional anniversary celebration, but since we love to Polka, and since the German-American society in Peoria was hosting a "sommerfest" celebration on the Sunday before June 14th, we invited our friends to join us there for an informal "open house". In spite of a rainy day 2 dozen people showed up. Here you see Pep & I waiting for our guests in the dance pavillion with the society's German Pig. Pep's wearing her new Traditional German dress called a Dirndl.

The best thing about these German festivals is dancing to the live Polka bands.

One more Polka picture - after all, that's about all we did for four hours!.

Here's a good family picture taken at the German fest.

On June 30th, we had a "wedding party reunion" and invited all who were in our wedding. Here's Norm and Dena (Palmer) Aaron. Friends since early school days, we continue to enjoy times together. Norm & Dena just celebrated their 25th in March.

Here's Jeff Hibbard. His wife Sophia, was unable to be with him tonight. Don and Jeff were best friends at Bradley, and continue to hold similar jobs in the "computer" field.

Roger and Jan (Peters) Hasler have been best friends of ours for years. Their daughter Megan (our God Daughter) just graduated from Limestone. An interesting trivia item: these two MET at OUR wedding, and got married 23 months later (May 14, 1977).

The German Hall provides live German Music while you eat. There wasn't any room to dance, but we enjoyed listening.

Our parents organized the party, and had a mini-wedding cake made to match our original design. Anne Rogers from our church was the baker (GREAT JOB, Anne!).

Pep's mom made a scrapbook of old photos and memorobalia. Everyone enjoyed paging through it.

The president of the German/American society provided us with an exclusive German Apple liqueur called Berentzen Apfelkorn , so we could toast each other.

Here's ALL the wedding party that attended, circa 2000.

Lastly - a family picture at the German Hall.
