Photos taken aboard the USS Hornet.
They seem to contradict reports that the planes were 
all repainted just prior to loading onto the carrier.

Any markings that could identify where the planes came from were painted over.

Running up the engines

The first 6 planes on the flight deck. 
Prior to the launch they were all pushed back and arranged
at the aft end of the deck in a Vee arrangement.
