Philosophy

My philosophy regarding midwifery is one of care, friendship, understanding, honesty, education, and co-operation. I feel that a close rapport with my clients can help bring about a good outcome for both sides.

I find pregnancy and birth truly fascinating. This has always been my primary drive and motivation. Every pregnancy, labor and birth are as unique as the individual. I see this as a time of emotional and spiritual maturation as well as the more obvious physical growth. But I also see the family change and develop and feel truly honored to be involved with that growth and change.

Pregnancy is also a time of physical and emotional stress and is never quite as romantic as we could wish. Most pregnancies have their ups and downs and helping you cope with these is what I am here for. I firmly believe that I am a midwife to facilitate the pregnancy and birth experience that you wish for. With co-operation and education, together, we can help you to avoid the complications of pregnancy that may cause you to alter your birth plans.
