Hi. I'm "Doc", and this is the story of this year's snowmobile trip to the area surrounding "Big Moose Lake" in the Adirondack mountains of New York State.
Join Jim, Tom, Joe and me for this
wild ride through the cold wilderness of Upstate New York. It isn't pretty, but it is an absolutely true story... Keep reading.
On December 30th and 31st, the area received a fresh blanket of snow, as a Nor'easter, storm "Audrey", plowed up the east coast, and it continued to snow each day of our trip, leaving a beautiful deepening white snow cover on the trails.
This site contains useful links about the area surrounding Big Moose, Eagle Bay, and Old Forge, and will include the story of our adventures, from the arrival of our warm weather friends, Joe and Tom, to the adventures surrounding our trip.
Sit back with your favorite warm or cold beverage and relax with us at the Twitchell Creek Club, while we unload the sleds and get on our way...
The Moose Lake Region is surrounded by magnificent mountains and pristine lakes, and you'll step back to the past
when time was to be enjoyed and leisure was an art. There is something here
for everyone!
A pioneer in snowmobiling, Old Forge enjoys its earned title as "The Snowmobile Capital of the East." There are literally hundreds of miles of groomed and maintained snowmobile trails in the area.
Here's a Map
These famous trails take snowmobilers through the majestic woodlands of the Adirondack Mountains, and with hundreds of miles of groomed trails and snow from early December until March. It doesn't get any better.
