Ship's Log 2000 "DNA"

Update 12/01 -  Ortega River Boat Yard, Jacksonville FL
     Passing the time: A while back, the friend with the 42' s/v asked if I wanted to help with a one night outside passage to Fort Pierce. He was going to get some work done on the boat and continue on to the keys. I would catch a bus back to Jacksonville. So much for a plan. We left the marina and motored to an anchorage on the other side of town. The plan was to head offshore early the following morning. The next morning it was raining, cold, and sea conditions were not that good. We started down the ICW. Over the next five days the weather did not get better it just changed to high gusty winds. Because of the weather, he was not able to stop and get the boat worked on. It was not major repair and could be rescheduled for another place and time. In addition to the company, there were some other bright spots. When passing through Delray I found my good-looking cousin on her patio that overlooks the ICW. There was not much traffic so we stopped and talked. She was surprised to see me and wanted to know why I wasn't on DNA. 
     It was also the week of the boat show in Ft. Lauderdale. There was allot of good-looking boats there. Lots of BIG $$$$$$. We didn't stop and continued on to Miami. We were out of food so I jumped ship, took a cab to the airport and got a flight back to DNA. It was fun with several adventures, but felt good to be back on DNA.

(OK! Here's the deal, it's now 4/10/2001. I am still in Jacksonville Fl and Andi is still in Chattanooga TN. I had to replace my computer and rebuild everything from scratch and still haven't had time to update this web page. I am going to get underway and head back to the Bahamas. I will try to keep current starting now and update 12/1/2000 thru 4/10/2001 when I have the time. I have did some neat stuff and met some cool people while I've  been here and want to tell you about it. I want to go sailing more. By By.)
