Signs

Small signs are easily made on 1/4" wood or thicker. Base coat and sand the edges for a warn look. Drill 2 holes in each upper corner to hang with a wire or attach a picture hook on the back. Sign Ideas:

Moms Brag Book

Cover a small photo album or writing journal with a favorite fabric. It can be used for a collection of family photos from her growing up years or perhaps a collection of favorite recipes, memories, or bloopers. Start by ironing your fabric. If possible remove the pages from your album. Cut batting to fit the front, spine and back and cut fabric 2 inches larger on all sides. Glue batting to the book. Cover the book with the fabric pulling taught and glue to the inside edges of the album. Glue cording, ric rack, or lace to the inside edge of the album as desired. Cut 2 fabric pieces to fit the inside covers front and back to hide the raw edges. Turn under 1/4 inch on each edge and iron to create a hem. Glue fabric in place with right side facing up and overlapping any trim edge. Embellish with any appropriate accessories and add a title such as Moms Memories, Moms Recipes, or Moms Journal. The title can be painted on plain fabric, or added with a marker. Wrap a piece of cardboard with your title fabric and glue to the cover with right side facing up and glue braid around the edge.

Spell it Out

Using blocks spell out a message. Perhaps her name in blocks for her desk or #1 MOM. Embellish with miniature accents from the miniature doll house section of your craft store or the doll section of a toy shop. Suggestions: Doll hat and accessories, Pots and plants, Pots and Pans, Golf clubs and so forth.

Add 4-10 unique teddy bears and accessories to the solid couch and get names personalized.

A Coupon Book

Using your computer print up a special coupon book - This coupon good for:
One back rub,
One clean room,
One washed car,
A story...read by ME,
One car cleaning,
One day of rest and relaxation, and so forth)
or print a fancy certificate in honor of being the worlds greatest Mom.

Sweatshirt

For a new Mother or Grandmother make baby's foot print by dipping a fist in paint (your color choice) with your thumb pointing toward the ceiling 'walk' across the shirt. Add 5 toes with your finger and write My Daughter (or son) Walks All Over Me. If your children are older have them place hand prints on the shirt and write, The Worlds Greatest Mom - Hands Down! Or print around the handprints with a paint pen and draw a bow around the index finger - write, "Mom, we have you wrapped around our fingers".

Bath Salts

Materials:
Epsom Salt
Food color of choice
Fragrance of choice
Pretty glass container Container
Embellishments of choice - Perhaps a lace doily to cover a canning jar with ribbon tied around. Or perhaps some silk flowers glued to raffia tied aroung a bottle.
Procedure:
Mix the Salts with a drop or two of coloring at a time. Add the fragrance. Done. Don't forget to put the bath salts in a beautiful container and wish your Mother a happy Mothers day. If you still live at home with your Mother it would be a REAL treat if you scrubbed out the tub for her and allowed her 45 minutes ALONE in the tub.
