A shower is a wonderful and special way to welcome a new little one into the world.
There are so many things a new baby needs it can be very over whelming to new parents.
From a sleeper to a place to sleep, all gifts will be appreciated. A
Baby Shower Camera
will be a wonderful addition to an
instant guest book/baby album
. And the party is
sure to have a special place in the new baby book as well as the new mom's memories. Baby Shower Favors
are a fun way to thank each guest.
If you know the theme the new mother plans to use for her nursery
this can be a theme for your shower. That way any decorations or
crafts you use can be gifts themselves. And save an invitation and
napkin to add to the baby book.
One Shower Favor Idea is to fill plastic baby bottles with
milk bath (recipe follows) adding a pink and blue ribbon and a
computerized label.
Milk Bath
2 cups dry milk powder
1 cup cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon fragrance oil of your choice
Blend all ingredients together.
For the label:
Milk Bath
We showered the mommy
with gifts it's true,
But this shower present
is just for you.
Just add 1/2 - 1 cup to your bath water for a softening
and soothing bath.
Invitations, Announcements and Thank You Cards can be made from rubber stamps, painted, or from your home computer.
For the invitations:
Using a bunny theme the outside of the card could say;
Somebunny is having a baby and we hope you can help us celebrate!
Add a tiny piece of cotton to his tail and a small ribbon to his neck.
On the inside be sure to include all the particulars such as
Who, When, Where and RSVP.
Or try using a triangle of white paper folded like a diaper. Write
the invitation details inside. Use a small hole punch and add a
large diaper pin to the outside for additional embellishment.
A Wreath for the front door to announce the party can be
decorated in pink or blue with rattles, pacifiers, bottles, and silk
flowers wired on.
A Diaper Cake Centerpiece can be a whimisical and useful piece.
Use either cloth or solid white disposable diapers. Roll the diapers
and stand upright on a lovely cake platter. Tie them around with a
pink or blue bow to secure. A second or third layer can be added in
the same fashion. Top with some ribbon roses and this can double as
a whimsical centerpiece.
Or make a
Stork cake.
