My brother, Tom, lives across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans, the city in which we were both born and raised.   After a 700+ mile drive from Tennessee, I was pretty tired, so I spent Monday resting, eating, recuperating, eating, and catching up with Tom.

This is Tom, proudly showing off the psaltery he made and is learning to play.  It is quite beautiful and he has done a magnificent job crafting it.

While he will always be "mybrothertherocketscientist" to me, it is always cool to see him do something so very much from the right side of his brain.

Here is the view from the Tom's sofa, a place I became very familiar with that first full day in Louisiana.   I reclined there, eating whatever my heart desired, and watching the relationships between Tom's cats and his new parrot, Dirk.  Harry is the black and white guy, and Dusty is the one hiding under Dirk's cage.  Pixie, the third cat, was lounging with me on the sofa.

She knew what was important, you see.
