Knights Deputy - Bro. Willie Stancell
During the Annual Session on
May 8-10, 1951 in Denver, CO
the Prince Hall Conference of Grand Masters, under the
leadership of Amos T. Hall commissioned and established
The Knights of Pythagoras for boys between the ages of
8 to 18.
In 1958, Grand Master Clark S. Brown instituted
the North Carolina Council Order of the Knights of
Pythagoras with Brother B. N. Cook of Winston Salem
as the first Grand Knight Director. The first Council
organized was the James H. Young Memorial
Council # 1. Today there are many active Councils
statewide. Knight Director of the Piedmont and
Western Regions is Bro. Elijah Bazemore. Knight
Director of the Eastern and Coastal Regions is
Bro. Ervin Farmer.
The 30th District currently has two active Councils,
Harry D. Hayes # 122 and Thayer E. Tyson # 146. Both
are growing and heavily involved in local, district and
statewide events.
At the 2005 Annual "Kid's Day - Back to School"
Celebration, Knights and Gleaners were presented
with new book bags filled with school supplies donated
by Masons and Eastern Stars.
