General Info:
Mike is the little green monster from the 2001 movie Monsters INC., made by Disney and Pixar. Within the Disney World parks, he gets out often for meets, though it is very possible to hit a bad week when he isn't out at all (like we have!).
Starting in 2008, Mike and Sully have been meeting in a new location near the Backlot Tour at Disney Hollywood (MGM) Studios. They used to meet near the ABC Comissary Restaurant, but they no longer appear in that spot.
In our experience, Sully is out more often than Mike, as we had some trips where we couldn't find Mike not even once. But it seems that overall Mike gets out often enough.
There is a newish show at Magic Kingdom in Tomorrowland featuring Monsters INC characters, but I haven't heard any word that the characters would pop up there. So Disney Hollywood Studios is the place to go!

Character Hunting Tips: -
Finding a beloved character can be a child (or adult's!) highlight of a trip to
Disney World! On this page, we listed a character we met, also
the places we seen this character on our
week-long trips (Jan 2003, May 2003, Oct 2003, Jan 2004, April 2004, Oct/Nov 2004, April 2005, Oct 2005, December 2005, January 2006, May 2006, November 2006, February 2007, September 2007, January 2008, October 2008).
Some characters were found by some fellow character hunters who were nice
enough to help us out!
Unfortunately, we aren't local to Florida (wish we were!!!), so we certainly don't know
everything about every character!
But we tried to list good places to look and
recent reliable sightings of that character!
Must say, sometimes finding a favorite character can be difficult!
One day you may see a bunch of characters in one spot, and the next day - not one!
Some characters may be everywhere on one trip, and nowhere the next! And some
characters come out only for 10 minute meets, then don't return for hours! Yikes!
Your best
bet to find your favorite character
is to read various character websites (check links here!),
or ask at Guest Relations at a Disney World park or resort (sometimes they
can tell you where a character is meeting people that day),
or check the Times Guide Map that you pick up when
you enter the Disney World parks. Or just wander around
and constantly look everywhere you go! Good luck character hunting!!
