Character # 112 of 208
Here is a character who meets and greets at Disney World, along with their autograph and where they were found:

Carmen
This is Carmen! We never knew she had a name!

Carmen is too busy dancing to sign autographs

Carmen

A Character From the Movie: The Little Mermaid

Common or Rare: Rarely Makes Appearancs at Special Events     (Click to see common/rare scale)

Note: Fully admit our family is taking a break from Disney and are no longer updating this site at this time (2009). Information is probably out-of-date.

Best Spot for meeting this character (if there is one!): In front of Ariel's Grotto at the Princess and Pirates parties at Magic Kingdom

Your Chances of Finding This Character: If attending one of the parties, chances are pretty good - no idea after the parties are over! Click to see info on the Princess and Pirate party and see if one is coming up

General Info: Carmen is a somewhat obscure character, but probably a very recognizable one if you are a fan of the movie The Little Mermaid! She is the vibrant fish who dances when Sebastian sings the song Under The Sea (oK, I admit I have to rewatch the movie to remember exactly what she does in that musical number!). She was a new character out at Disney World, starting in early 2007. She's been meeting and dancing with guests during the Princess and Pirates parties at Magic Kingdom, taking place certain nights of the year. It can be a bit tricky to get her attention for photos while she is dancing with the kids, though! But if you are persistant, hopefully you can achieve a prized photo with Carmen! We believe she will probably be a special event character only. When our family was watching The Little Mermaid, we never knew this character even had a name, but obviously she does now!

Where Carmen was seen meeting:

Special - (Princess and Pirates Party) - In Front of Ariel's Grotto in Fantasyland (Magic Kingdom)

Character Hunting Tips: - Finding a beloved character can be a child (or adult's!) highlight of a trip to Disney World! On this page, we listed a character we met, also the places we seen this character on our week-long trips (Jan 2003, May 2003, Oct 2003, Jan 2004, April 2004, Oct/Nov 2004, April 2005, Oct 2005, December 2005, January 2006, May 2006, November 2006, February 2007, September 2007, January 2008, October 2008). Some characters were found by some fellow character hunters who were nice enough to help us out! Unfortunately, we aren't local to Florida (wish we were!!!), so we certainly don't know everything about every character! But we tried to list good places to look and recent reliable sightings of that character!

Must say, sometimes finding a favorite character can be difficult! One day you may see a bunch of characters in one spot, and the next day - not one! Some characters may be everywhere on one trip, and nowhere the next! And some characters come out only for 10 minute meets, then don't return for hours! Yikes! Your best bet to find your favorite character is to read various character websites (check links here!), or ask at Guest Relations at a Disney World park or resort (sometimes they can tell you where a character is meeting people that day), or check the Times Guide Map that you pick up when you enter the Disney World parks. Or just wander around and constantly look everywhere you go! Good luck character hunting!!
