Character # 23 of 208
Here is a character who meets and greets at Disney World, along with their autograph and where they were found:

Abu
Abu at the ToonTown Train Station

Abu the Monkey

A Character From the Movie: Aladdin

Common or Rare: Been Appearing At Special Events     (Click to see common/rare scale)

Note: Fully admit our family is taking a break from Disney and are no longer updating this site at this time (2009). Information is probably out-of-date.

Best Spot for meeting this character (if there is one!): Adventureland near Aladdin's Magic Carpets during special event parties (Halloween, Christmas, Princess and Pirates); also out rarely in Morocco at Epcot

Your Chances of Finding This Character: Chances are OK if you are at one of the parties!

General Info: Abu is the trouble-making monkey who is Aladdin's best faithful companion in the Disney movie Aladdin. He is a fairly new character at Disney World, as he started greeting during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parties in 2005. We saw him by the Magic Carpet Ride in Adventureland. It was so much fun to finally meet Abu! In 2006, he was at the Halloween and Christmas parties again, which pretty much shows he is primarily a special events character. And he also did greets at the Princess and Pirate parties, too. We did see Abu at the ToonTown Train Station once though, but that is a sporatic, super unusual location for him! It seems the special event parties at Magic Kingdom are the best bet to meet that trouble-making Abu!

The Places We Met Abu:

Feb 2007 - (Princess and Pirates Party) - Adventureland near Aladdin's Carpets (Magic Kingdom)
Dec 2006 - (Christmas Party) - Adventureland near Aladdin's Carpets (Magic Kingdom)
Oct 2006 - (Halloween Party) - Adventureland near Aladdin's Carpets (Magic Kingdom)
Jan 2006 - ToonTown Train Station/Tear Drop (Magic Kingdom) (Unusual location!)
Dec 2005 - (Christmas Party) - Adventureland (Magic Kingdom)
Oct 2005 - (Halloween Party) - Adventureland near Aladdin's Carpets (Magic Kingdom)

Character Hunting Tips: - Finding a beloved character can be a child (or adult's!) highlight of a trip to Disney World! On this page, we listed a character we met, also the places we seen this character on our week-long trips (Jan 2003, May 2003, Oct 2003, Jan 2004, April 2004, Oct/Nov 2004, April 2005, Oct 2005, December 2005, January 2006, May 2006, November 2006, February 2007, September 2007, January 2008, October 2008). Some characters were found by some fellow character hunters who were nice enough to help us out! Unfortunately, we aren't local to Florida (wish we were!!!), so we certainly don't know everything about every character! But we tried to list good places to look and recent reliable sightings of that character!

Must say, sometimes finding a favorite character can be difficult! One day you may see a bunch of characters in one spot, and the next day - not one! Some characters may be everywhere on one trip, and nowhere the next! And some characters come out only for 10 minute meets, then don't return for hours! Yikes! Your best bet to find your favorite character is to read various character websites (check links here!), or ask at Guest Relations at a Disney World park or resort (sometimes they can tell you where a character is meeting people that day), or check the Times Guide Map that you pick up when you enter the Disney World parks. Or just wander around and constantly look everywhere you go! Good luck character hunting!!
