Introduction

In 1998 I was asked by a client to assemble an executive-level briefing book on the subject of knowledge management.  In 1999, that same client requested additional assistance in implementing a company-wide knowledge management initiative.   Among other things, this engagement included developing a corporate communication plan regarding KM, a start-up kit for Communities of Practice (CoPs) and, lastly, creating an updated "electronic version" of the original hard copy KM briefing book.   Originally, this "electronic version" was envisioned as requiring little more than updating the original word processing files and delivering those to the client in lieu of hard copy.  What emerged instead was a prototype KM resources web page.   This web site is an extension of the prototype developed for the client.
