Bon and Kim outside of the African Art Smithsonian. We didn't go into that one, but we did try the Japanese/Islamic art building. Hmm, not our style!

The Washington Monument, proof that we were in DC!

And the Capitol Building in the other direction. We were on our way to Au Bon Pain where Bonnie had to get a key on a stick to get into the restroom. The bun of my sandwich was really hard.

The original All in the Family chair! See beach pictures for the look-alike in our condo!

Kimberlee and Oscar. Which is the grouch? Oscar of course! Kim was having a lovely time on her first trip into DC since she was little. We were all confused together when trying to use the Metro tickets!

The flag that was hung over the Pentagon on September 12, 2001.

PANDA-MANIA!!! I just love when cities do the animal artwork scattered throughout the streets. I'm posing for the cover of 'Panda Style Magazine.'

The lake in the center of Kim and Matt's development. There is a 2 mile walking trail around it. We walked here after riding the Metro and staring at an ad for Starbuck's Frappacinno. We HAD to go get one after that!

Bon and Kim on a bridge near the lake. As we walked back to the house, we got hit on by a teenager who had "G-A-M-E" or so he said. His mom was on the porch laughing histerically.

My two relatives, running for the monuments. I couldn't hold them back, they wanted to fit in as many of the outside events before Charley possibly hit.

Notice the high wall around the monument. We had to walk a long way around.

Approaching the WWII memorial.

Me and Seastar! Who wore the sensible shoes?

Each state is represented by a tall section. Pennsylvania is the one on the left.

The water was really cool, some was shooting up while other sections were flowing downward.

There were two sides, Pacific and Atlantic.

Each star stood for (I can't remember exactly) but somewhere around 1000 soldiers killed in battle. You can't see it real well, but there were a huge amount of them. This area held the only still water in the memorial.

No one can escape Panda-Mania! This chocolate covered strawberry was near Pot Belly where we ate lunch. The place had all sorts of fun decorations. Such as some space craft that reminded us of the Olympic torch, which reminded us of a giant joint. What were those crazy Greeks thinking??

Kim and Bon in the Metro station. Sigh. Notice the sign in between them, "Yellow Train Arriving." Hmm, we needed the Green Train... We got to ride toward the Pentagon though! 20 minutes later we were back on track.

Kim and Matt's townhouse. This was taken after we went to CiCi's Pizza. Where Bonnie got to watch me discover that we were the ONLY white people there! Seriously 100 other patrons and I had the lightest hair color BY FAR. That's what I get for living in Greensburg/Latrobe all my life!
