Ocean City 2005
Our beach vacation begins! Amy, Therese, Christina, and I departed from my house at 4:45am. On the way we saw three of Toby Keith's tractor trailors. There was an accident before the bay bridge, and it took an hour to go less than a mile. Besides that, there were no problems and we checked in around noon. |
Getting ready for our first night at Seacrets! |
A little pre-gaming before departure. Yes, Christina did drink most of the bottle on the first night! |
Even I am a little tan at the beginning of the week. See how nice we look now? It didn't last because it was 120 degrees at Seacrets. I've never been so hot in my life but we kept dancing! We met a very fun group of guys from Philly who we saw throughout the week. |
Of COURSE we saw our friend Dobber from college. He was being followed by a camera crew for a reality show about lifeguards. We thought it might be for a local cable access show? I better not show up on TV somewhere... |
This is the DK look-alike in the band. I tried to get close to get a good shot but this was as good as it gets. The ironic part is that Dustin called me later that night, and I hadn't talked to him in a long while. |
We had Amy and Therese's stuffed dogs from their bf's on our heads to remind them of home, haha. Paul and Dan came to visit at the condo and I told them to bring friends. I didn't think they seriously would but Dave and Ryan came too! I wasn't in prime form. I had been up for 22 hours and had the flu earlier that week so I was exhausted. Thank God we didn't have neighbors; the Steelers/Eagles rivalry erupted into the Steeler Fight Song being played VERY loudly on the stereo. It was a classic moment and I'm proud of my black and gold. :) The dogs were found the next morning in our SteelGator cooler and an 'empty' pizza box. |
After a very hot Sunday on the beach, we ate at Big Peckers. |
That night, we were walking to the bus stop when a truck slowed and someone yelled out, "You girls need a ride?" My response in my best bitchy voice: "That's quite all right." Immediately after that Therese's phone rings and Paul calls, they were the ones in the truck! So funny. |
Bar crawl night! We didn't know where to go on a Sunday night so we figured we'd walk on the boardwalk and hit a bunch of places. |
We first stopped at Shenanigan's where the bartender had a huge problem serving us one beer. We left asap. |
Next was Hammerheads right on the boardwalk. |
The bartender took our picture and he wanted a copy of it. I'll get right on that, Mr. Professional Photographer. |
Me and Therese at the same place. |
I didn't get an outside picture, but we're at Brass Balls. |
Therese conned the bartender into giving her a Brass Balls mug. This started her weeklong quest to steal a cup from every place we went! She kept her cell phone in the cup, just like our Pittsburgh bar crawl. |
The bartender gave us some ideas of other places to go to. |
Pepper's Tavern, this was a strange place. It is below the level of the boardwalk so there are no windows, and there was lots of graffiti, neon lights, and red leather booths. I didn't like it there. |
Next we busted into the Party Block. We got in free here all week because of my awesome foresight in obtaining VIP passes. Dark picture but still cool in a way. We weren't allowed into the band area because of a private party, what's that about? I did speak to a girl in the restroom about my closet at home being full of stuffed animals. Don't even ask how we got onto that subject! |
On the way to Buxy's Salty Dog, we talked to the Philly boys who had expressed interest in meeting up that night. They were going to be a little late because they might go for ice cream... That just started a whole bunch of sarcastic comments (we were punchy that night!) I believe the words "ice cream eating fairies" did come out of my mouth... We walked the yellow line on the side street, screaming, pretending to be sober, then ran from random cat calls! Therese announced that the boys were at already at Buxy's so we had to hurry. Amy and Christina made a new land speed record while Therese and I struggled to keep them in sight. (Remember, I had been sick last week!) |
We made it, Therese cooled down, and fun times resumed. Here we are with Paul and Dan. |
Me and Alex! I posed for the picture on his shirt. ;) |
Ryan was there too, I think one of the girls got a picture with him in it. Christina thinks he's hot... I think she was staring at him in the picture. Mass confusion followed and she lost sight of him, and I think he left, so she was disappointed. |
We went back to the guy's condo and had a great time hanging out. Dave was on fire with his cocky comments. OMG he was so rude and obnoxious, yet so entertaining! I loved it, I wish I could remember some of the stuff he came up with. He later apologized, something about a girl that I didn't quite get, but it was okay because I had fun. |
Therese at the condo! |
Getting ready on Monday, the infamous night at Fager's Island. That night we ate at Warren's Station, where something bad always happens to me. Girls, I may not be able to go back there again! |
The cousins all dressed up, next to our lovely wicker furniture. The condo was actually the nicest one we've stayed at. |
We always strive to look hot. |
Amy on the phone with Brad. |
Our usual picture by the water, though you really can't tell. |
I love this picture, you can so hear Amy yelling "Ohhh!" |
And a nice pose. We called Rachel, Amy's sister, who had been to Seacrets with us last year. We miss Rachel, why did she have to get married? :) |
Fager's has a new section outside on the sand, trying to be like Seacrets I guess. It wasn't very crowded at all and it wasn't the usual crowd. |
This was right before the incident. We're not sure if someone slipped something into our drinks, but things went downhill real fast. My drink shattered on the dance floor (and all over my white skirt!), and I was the only one who was perfectly fine. |
This is the table that came crashing down on top of Therese and I, after which we left in a hurry! Apologies to Paul for my nonstop chatter, I swear I'm the least talkative person of the group! |
It was a rough night... |
I made Amy lie down on the table too just so that I had everyone. She was feeling okay at that point. |
And she made me do it too, haha. Everyone made it back to the condo safely, where I proceeded to finally eat my dinner. |
Everyone else was asleep and I was so sad that I wrote it all down. HA don't even think I'd let you read the whole thing. It was only for my girls' eyes the next morning. |
