HANDS ACROSS

HANDS ACROSS

for three (teapots)
Involves three dances and may be danced on the sidelines or across the dance.
Uses four traveling steps in four bars of music (although the four step is often used as a transition into the next figure). The most common pattern is 1st couple in 2nd place - 1st woman with 2nd couple and 1st man with 3rd couple - hands are taken as follows: dancing couple take shake hands grip with their first corners and the remaining dancers place their hands on top. After dancing right hands across for three, often the dancing couple changes places and often hands to dance left hands across for three.

Note: description of four and six hands across will be added later.
