Our performance group is the
GOOD TIME SCOTTISH DANCERS

I was born in Houston, Texas, December 18, 1949. I've lived all my life in Houston and went to school here, getting a B.A. in English from the University of Houston in 1971 and a law degree also from UH in 1980 and became a licensed attorney in 1980. I've been a practicing attorney since 1980 focusing mostly on real estate, contracts, small businesses, and wills, trusts and estate planning. Between the law degree and the B.A. I spent several years in the insurance industry.

Other interests include dancing (Scottish, English, ballroom), reading (particularly mysteries), creative writing, and traveling. I also maintain a correspondence with a number of penpals, four in the UK, one in Australia and one in New Zealand; one of my penpals in Yorkshire, UK I've written to since we were 13 - I've visited there twice and she's been here once.

I took up Scottish Country Dancing at the age of 36, never having done much dancing of any kind before.
My philosophy in all my activities is to try to increase the self esteem of all involved and build a sense of community.  I also enjoying spending time with friends, many of whom I met through Scottish Country Dancing.

 I’ve led  Ceilidh dancing for
Celtic Weddings and for Southminster Presbyterian Church Missouri City, (Feb. 11, 2005);  John Cooper School, Woodlands Nov. 5, 2004 Annual Book Fayre; 2000, 2001 and 2002 Celtic Celebration Heart of East Texas; and I've taught segments for Bayou Bedlam Workshop Houston Area Traditional Dance Society 2000 and 2001; workshop Houston Community College Week of World Dance Summer 2001 and I'm also presently teaching dance as a form of therapy in a residential facility.

I am a the 2006 President of The Celtic Chorus of Houston. I was instrumental in staring The Gathering of the Celts (the annual fundraiser for the Celtic Chorus of Houston) and organized a monthly Celtic Concert series.

I maintain a variety of webpages featuring musicians and Celtic events.
