BALANCE IN LINE

BALANCE IN LINE IN REEL AND JIG TIME
This formation is danced by three or four dancers in line facing alternate ways.
It can be danced on the sidelines, across the dance or diagonally.
It takes two pas de basque setting steps (right foot, then left foot)
in two bars of music with nearer hands joined at shoulder height.
(Note: there are some dances recently written with balance in line formations in strathspey time but generally the dances have further description).
